On Tuesday, July 20, the UPV-EHU Master’s student in Chemistry and Polymers, Alejandro Herranz Berzosa, successfully defended his master’s thesis entitled “Síntesis de copolímero poli(ácido metacrílico-co-polietilenglicol metacrilato) y estudio del efecto de su composición y microestructura en la hidratación de las fases cristalinas del cemento”.
The main objectives of the work were the synthesis of several Polycarbosilate based superplasticizers and the study of their effect on the hydration of pure clinker phases. The work was supervised by A. Barquero (Polymat-UPV/EHU) and E. Erkizia (Tecnalia). This work is part of the Transborder Cooperation Laboratory, LTC-Green Concrete and it has been carried out within the HEMEN project funded by Misiones Euskampus 1.0.
