Hegoi Manzano graduated in Physical Chemistry in 2005 at the University of the Basque Country UPV / EHU. He completed an industrial doctorate in the R + D + i company TECNALIA, and received a doctorate in Chemistry from the University of the Basque Country in 2010, with a thesis on atomistic modeling of cementitious materials. He moved to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA) in 2010, where he spent 2 years as a postdoctoral fellow, working on the development of reactive force fields and their application to cementitious materials. In 2012 he moved back to Spain, occupying various postdoctoral research positions until 2015, when he became Adjunct Professor in the Department of Physics at the UPV / EHU, where he continues today as Associate Professor. Hegoi is the author of more than 50 articles in international journals, with an h index of 26, and leads a small group focused on atomic modeling and mesoscale of cement-related materials. At the UPV / EHU he teaches of Experimental Techniques in Physics and Statistical Physics.
