Prof. Nadia Saiyouri

Prof. Nadia Saiyouri is a full professor of Mechanics and Engineering Institute I2M in University of Bordeaux. She Holds a PhD in Mechanics from Centrale Supelec Paris in 1996, a M.Sc of Engineering Process and Rheology from Paris Diderot University in 1992. She Started as Full professor in 2012 in University of Bordeaux. She is the head of Civil engineering Department of I2M since 2017. She was associate Professor in Ecole Centrale de Nantes from 1999 to 2012. Her teaching activities are about Geotechnics, Soil Mechanics, Natural Hazards and Environment, Construction Materials. Her research activity is focused these last years on the devlopment and behavior study of new concretes based on clayey soils or sediments, with different industrial wastes and fibers. Also on Mechanical and physical-chemical/durability characterization of reinforced fine soils mixtures for environmental applications. She supervised 18 PhD students and was invited as member or chair of more than 30 Phd defense Jurys. She is Program Officer of VALOSED project founded by Region Nouvelle Aquitaine and several companies and Maritime Ports. This project topics valorization of dredged sediment for 4 ports in Nouvelle Aquitaine (west of France). She was involved in the development of several other innovative projects in the area of Life Cycle Management of building de-construction, roads construction, soil erosion (National Project Erinoh), Campanies projects about new concretes and reinforcement of soils. She is author of book chapter and scientific articles in construction materials and soil treatment. She is elected as Vice president of Odeys Cluster of Sustainable construction and innovation in building and civil engineering. She is elected vice president of the University Association of Civil Engineering (AUGC). She is member of the “Granular Material Committee” of the EMI, ASCE, “American Society of Civil Engineering”
